On these days I get up knowing that someone is going to laugh at me, at us, because unfortunately, the members of our government  don't take holidays. Since they start their working day (or whatever they do) keep giving us two fingers, treating us like dirt, so I thought about dissapearing. Not really emigrate, no, but something like hibernate. I was chewing over it during the early hours when reality and dream are one. I curled up under my eiderdown because to the apathy of these days a glacial cold has been added. After lazing about, waiting for the alarm clock to sound, I thought I could sleep for months (which was a way of cheating myself because the situation could last years) but I realized that I wouldn't be able.  I felt a bit depressed but I don't usually give up and suddenly I got the inspiration: why not imitate the little genious of Nothomb's novel? "Yes, that's it!", I told myself, "vegetate till someone comes to discover me an infinite pleasure". In my case, this pleasure is really simple, as it was her belgian chocolate: I just want to be listened, that all of us are listened; that they listen to the waves of colours, to the tears of those who have lost their houses, to those who now consider that food is luxury, to those who must forget that their hands were useful one day. To people.

METAFÍSICA DE LOS TUBOS, de Amélie Nothomb
THE CHARACTER OF RAIN, by Amélie Nothomb
